Baby devours formula in record time

Baby Dixon now holds the world record for most formula eaten in a 20 minute period!

Baby Dixon is one hungry baby!

ROLL OVER!!!

NEWS FLASH!!!!
Dixon has just rolled over from his stomach to his back~ He is AMAZING!

This picture was the end result. :)

Back to reality (kind of)

I mean really...Could you leave this face?

Tomorrow is the day I have been dreading for the past 6 weeks and 4 days...I am going back to school! I know, I know it's only for 4 days...but still it is devastating! I can not imagine being away from Dixon ALL day. For the past 46 days I have been living and breathing him. Now I am expected to leave him for 10 whole hours?? While I have been wallowing in self pitty for the past week, I think it would help to remember all of the things I have to be grateful for...

I am grateful...

That I have a baby who is so happy and healthy that he can be without me for 10 hours.

That I have a husband who is absolutely thrilled about having a "daddy day."

That all of our parents are ecstatic about the thought of having him all to themselves for a whole day.

That I have a job where I had 46 days paid maternity leave.

That after 4 days I will be able to have almost 3 amazing months home with my little guy.

That even though I may worry...Dixon will probably be just as perfect and happy as if I was there with him.

That I will get to see my co workers and the kids at Stowe before we all leave for summer.

That after a day of work...I will get to come home to the most beautiful baby in the world.

Ok...I think I can make it 4 days! :)

WE were so lucky to have Dr. Johnson deliver Dixon.
We could not have asked for a better doctor!

At My 6 week check up he gave Dixon this little shirt....

Thank you Dr. Johnson!!! :)

Mr. Green Thumb

Lately Dixon has been trying to find his thumb,
I think he might be a little confused! :)

Best buddies...

Everyone that knows us knows that we LOVE our Lady dog. We got her the week after we moved into our house and she is absolutely prefect. So, many times when we run into people they say, "What does Lady think of him?" The truth is she loves him. She has a dog bed by his crib and we will find her in there in the middle of the night. She gets up for every feeding. When he is crying at his changing table, she will scratch at my leg, like she is saying, "Do something!" We will see if this friendship continues as Dixon gets big enough to pester her...but for now...she adores him. :)

A new kind of excitement

NEVER in my life did I think that I would be SO excited about a dirty diaper! But, little Dixon has had a little trouble going to the bathroom...so when a poppy diaper comes up...I am filled with joy! Who would have thought?!?

Perfection.

Right now as I type Dixon is sleeping in my arms. I have never seen a baby so prefect. He has beautiful strawberry blond hair, BIG blue eyes, a birth mark on his left elbow and one on his right side, long fingers and toes, an adorable button nose, the cutest baby legs, an adorable gummy grin, and a turned up chin. I could go on forever...I think this is true love.

A day in the life of Dixon...

Dixon has just turned 6 weeks old...Here is what a typical day in his world entails...
2:30 am- I Wake up STARVING for a bottle....eat quickly and go back to sleep.
6:30 am-  I wake up for another bottle...eat a little slower and usually take a nap.
8:30 am- Mommy gets me dressed for the day...then I get to be held by mommy or play on my activity mat with Lady.

10:30 am- I have another bottle...this time I eat SLOWLY!
11:30 am-  Then sit in my swing or my chair.

1:00ish pm- go for a walk with lady and mom.
2:30 pm- feeding time...then usually a nap.
3:45 pm Daddy gets home from work an wakes me up to play. Mommy and Daddy usually hold me and play with me until my next bottle...but I am trying to sleep. :)
7:00 pm - night time bottle...this I eat very slowly then mom puts me in my crib and prays that I sleep all night....
2:30 am WAKE UP!!!

In between all this my mom is trying to shower, eat, clean, do laundry, sleep, plus take care of me and Lady!

My days usually have many visitors and or trips to my wonderful grandparents...I love when I have visitors and when I can get out of the house!
Some of my favorite things other than eating and sleeping are...my soothie, my rainforest crib toy, and my swing.

At 6 weeks life is good...

Photo shoot with Dixon...

I have had many photo sessions in my life...engagement...wedding...graduations...ect...
But I have never had one as high of stress as baby Dixon's first photo shoot.
Leann Tucker came over to take the pictures...she is the best!! I tried to time everything perfectly...when he was bathed, when he last ate (to not be too hungary and grumpy or not too full and sleepy), when he was dressed, when the outfit changes would occur. I am quickly learning that with a baby....planning often goes out the window.
Leann was wonderful and paitent, with a fussy baby, a sweating mommy, a on overprotective puppy, and a sarcastic daddy!
All considering...the pictures turned out adorable! We are already planning our next session...;)

Dixon

Today Dixon had a good day! Every day for Dixon is a good day. Dixon likes to eat and most of all he likes to sleep. I wish I could sleep as much as Dixon does. Life as a baby is the good life.
By Daddy.
