This Little Piggy Went to Prada...

This is the most ab-fab nursery rhyme book I have ever seen. I found it when I was not very far along and I knew that it was a must have! Here is my favorite classic re-made...

"Hey Diddle Diddle the skirt fits my middle,
Mummy is over the moon.
Giorgio laughed, "To see her size halved
...She'll be back in Armani soon!"

OK...one more...

"Cobbler Cobbler, mend my shoes.
Careful please, they're Christian Lous.
Those red soles they'll never date.
They'll still be hot in spring '08."

LOVE IT!

Lady Love.

one sad duck.

With the help of Aunt Natalie I have discovered this great website...
https://www.photoshop.com/express/index.html
Where you are able to do fun stuff like this!
Watch out for some amazing pics in the future!

Traditions.

This was the baptismal gown that my great grandfather wore, then my grandpa, my mom, myself, and now, Dixon. Adam did not like the idea of Dixon being in a "dress". So Grandma Wendy and I had a secret photo shoot. Walter Charles would be proud!

When I was born my Uncle Chad made me this cradle with his bare hands! It was then used by the 11 cousins, after me, on my mom's side. Now it has come full circle, and Dixon gets to use the cradle, made with love by his great uncle Chad. :)

people let me tell you about my best friend...

she's a warm hearted person, she'll love me till the very end...

"Will I ever see the baby again???"

A few days ago I had a message from my grandma, Dixon's great grandma Patty. She asked in a sorrowful voice..."Will I ever see the baby again?" I knew I had to get her over and fast! She was having Dixon withdraws (very common in my family). They had a great time visiting and Dixon was talking away with her! I told her not to let it get that bad again...just to stop by!! :)

BUSY weekend...

We spent lots of time with family this weekend and it was wonderful.
Adam had a softball tournament by Davenport. We are glad his back is feeling better...but that means he will be gone more...;( for games.

While Adam was away at softball Dixon and I spent the afternoon at Chancer's
with Grandma Wendy, Aunt Tami, Chelsey, Chance, Cathy, and Tom.
We were helping Aunt Tami get ready for a BIG party!

We spent the evening with Grandma Gayle, Aunt Natalie and Grandpa Dan.
Aunt Natalie and Grandma Gayle had just returned from Disney World.
They gave Dixon these cool Pirates of the Caribiean sunglasses
among many other gifts. :)

We were so happy to have them back in town!

On Sunday we went to church and then the Sawyer reunion! Thrilling!

It was a great weekend!

Be careful what you wish for...

For those of you who are not enthralled by Dixon's bowel movements...you might want to skip this post...
This video is living proof that the tummy troubles are fading (knock on wood). Before the new medicine, when Dixon had a "movement" the neighbors could hear the poor little one scream in pain. On this video he doesn't even make a sound and he had made a dirty diaper. His FIFTH one of the day, hence the title!

FYI- I never talked like this before I became a mom...it's amazing how EVERYTHING changes!

"It will go so fast..."

I can not count the number of people who say this to me on a daily basis. I mean, complete strangers, who are the parents of teenagers will look at Dixon and say to Adam and I, "It will go so fast..." I did not believe this saying until recently. Not that I haven't LOVED being a mom and having Dixon here every minute...but those first few weeks...were not so fast! It was a HUGE adjustment that no one can prepare you for. I wanted him to grow, meet the milestones, sleep all night, and fast! Now I look at him and I want to keep him just like he is...forever. I think this is the perfect age, and it is going way too fast. :)

Team work wins!

It takes team work to burp a baby! Aunt Tasha and Aunt Maddy were working hard at it over the weekend!

on the endline little one!

Dixon got to meet his favorite volleyball coach over the weekend...Coach Eldridge!
They were so excited to finally meet each other!
She says he still has a few years before she will make him run sprints, like she did his mommy...
but she did give him exercises to work on his vertical!
Kidding of course! ;)

"What does a pig say? You are so smart!"

The happiest baby on the block!

It really does break my heart to see my little bear cry...but when he does his little snorts it is REALLY cute! Grandma Wendy says, "When he starts snorting, you know you are in trouble!" :)

As you can see...he did regain his composure! Notice the little horses on his feet. He loves to make the horses move!

At 2 months old...Dixon is one well baby...

Today was Dixon's "2 month well baby appointment".
It was a little tear jerking for the both of us...the poor little guy had to get 3 shots!
The good news is he is doing great! Except continuing problems with his #2s.
He weighed in at 11 pounds 8 ounces in the 50th percentile,
and he was 23 1/2 inches long in the 75th percentile.
He is growing like crazy!
soooooo big!

Happy Father's Day Adam!

Adam is one proud papa. :)

For Adam's first Father's Day Dixon and Lady gave him an ipod. He was very excited!
He got up at 6:00 in the morning to go golfing with Grandpa Dan.

Then we all went on a nice long walk.
Next, Dixon and I took the World's Greatest Dad out to eat at Joe's Crab Shack.

When we got back to Winterset we met Aunt Tasha and Eric to go out to the farm to see Grandpa Don.

Next we went to see Grandpa Jack and have dinner over there.
When we arrived home at 7:30 EVERYONE was ready for bed!
What an EXCITING first father's day!

*In other thrilling news...the air is fixed!!!**

"No Air" not just a song anymore...

Still no AC at the Alexander house...
Tonight we are staying at Grandma Gayle and Grandpa Dan's with Aunt Natatlie...
Adam is threatening to move back in the basement...:)

When it rains...it pours! (literally)

Dixon with a few cousins and Mr. Max...while Grandpa was trying to fix the air!

I know it has been a while since my last post...
Here is what has been going on at the Alexander house the past few days.

1. Flooded basement.
2. Locked keys in car in DM with Dixon.
3. Broken air conditioner.
4. Working on sink and countertops.
5. Max spent the night.
6. Dance recital.
7. Staying at Grandma Wendy's to beat the heat.
8. Ponds in back yard.
9. New sidewalk coming in.
10. Praying for no more rain to come into our house!

Being an adult is no walk in the park!

L for Love.

Dixon LOVES to take baths. I think that he likes the sound of the water running the most.

When he gets out of the bath he is bright eyed and bushy tailed...
or as his dad calls him, "Mr. Brighteyes"

He is still determined to find those thumbs!

As much as Dixon loves bathtime...he also loves his Soothie pacifers.
Online I found this one...called a WubbaNub. It is a soothie with an
animal on the end...to prevent it from falling out all of the time ...
Which Mommy loves!

Even MORE than WubbaNubs...Dixon LOVES the Hawkeyes!
He can hardly wait until fall to watch them on TV with his dad.

"Rock on Bears!"

Dixon also LOVES the Bears and the White Sox...
Just like daddy...

Spoken like a true Southsider!

Most of all Dixon LOVES Lady!
*Excpet when she performs her ear cleaning service on him ;)*
