dos is nueve.

It is SO hard to believe that 9 SHORT moths ago Breckin was born!

Breckie has been the perfect second baby. He is a laid back, easy to please, happy little guy.

Nine facts at nine months.

1. He absolutley adores his big brother, he cracks up at Dixon's wild and crazy antics. He equally adores all of his toys, which Dixon is less than thrilled with.

2. His favorite foods are, well, everything. The classic Breckin story is that one night I fed him two containers of baby food and then left for kickboxing and when I got home Adam said, "You don't need to feed Breckin, I just fed him two containers of food."

And Sweet Breckin didn't even blink an eye. :)

3. Breckin's two bottom teeth are half way in and he seems to be working pretty hard on some others.

4. He has perfected his army crawl (which he has been doing since 7 months). It is amazing how far he can propel  himself with just his big toe! :) He can get up and crawl...but prefers to sweep mamas floors with his tummy.

5. Breckin has been waving "hi" and "bye" for a while now.

6. He still loves to sit in his swing (even though it no longer swings) and watch cartoons on Nick Jr. Lately he prefers to crawl around rather than being tied up in his bouncer.

7. It only takes one person to make eye contact with Breckin and his whole face lights up in a huge grin.

8. He has proven Dr. Munro, who delivered him, to be correct when he exclaimed, "He's a wrestler!" at birth. He WILL NOT stay on his back for anything, making outfit and diaper changes very challenging.

9. He has thankfully outgrown his acid reflux...no more Zantac!

Mr. B continues to light up our lives with his contagious smile. It is impossible to look at him and be in a bad mood. We are so lucky to have him in our lives and are thankful for him each and every day!

animated

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why my children are so animated.

Any ideas?

i don't mean to brag, but how can i not?

Here are the pictures that were taken of my sweet little Reesey Cup, just days after she was born.

Probably my fave. :)

This one looks straight out of a magazine!

I think she looks like Tashie in this one...it could just bet the animal print though...;)

DOUBLE LOVE this one!

These precious pics were taken by Missie Lafrenz, Eric's sister!

She luckily lives close to US and will be taking our pics in mid October! Can't wait!

You can find her online at http://www.mlphotography.net/

(Don't worry, she is no longer in Monticello.) ;)

Her family blog can be found HERE.

Lucy is love.

An update for those of you who have been praying for sweet Lucy.

Yesterday she went to Heaven.

Her life was so short, but she made such a large impact.

She is a testament to the power of prayer.

Please continue to pray for her mommy, Courtney and her daddy, Jeremy.

mckwannabe.

I remember one of Mckmama's posts where she had two of her seventeen children back to back in a swing.

They had smiles on their sun kissed faces, their golden hair was blowing in the wind.

I tried to reinact this scene a few weeks ago (prior to cast removal).

Well...it didn't go as planned. Dixon was TICKED that Breckin was attemtpting to take his swing. He kept screaming "Mine, Mine, MINE!"

However, Breckie was his usual go with the flow, blackberry eating self...along for the ride.

Well...my kids are just as cute as Mckmama's...my photo op skills are just not quite there yet...;)

"For where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20

Please take a few minutes today to say a prayer for this sweet little miracle, Lucy.

I blogged about her here.

She was admitted to the hospital last weekend and is having complications.

Here is her mama Courtney's last Facebook update...

"Lucy's brain abnormalities are what is causing the issues. She has pretty much "grown out" of the brain she has. Her brain stem is very abnormal and has stopped telling her body to take breaths. Her nervous system has slowly started shutting down. We were also told that she will most likely never live without being on ...a vent. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers for our beautiful Lucy."

Lucy and her family need our prayers for comfort and strength.

Thank you.

homecoming is love.

If you know me very well at all, you will know that I love where we live. Adam and I both grew up here (as did our parents) (and their parents, close by). And now that I teach in my old high school it just makes activities like homecoming that much better!

I mean really...who else gets paid to go to a pep assembly and watch their homecoming parade! Love it!

Jackson is center left, with his teammates/buddies.

This homecoming is extra special because it is by baby brother Jackson's senior year. I have so much fun watching him in all of his activites, but I must say my favorite to watch is football. I really think he is the star of the game, so long and lean making touchdowns and interceptions...oh the excitement!

And as much as I love the games Dixon and Breckin probably love them more.

Dixon has many friends who go to the game as well and they have a little patch of grass where they can play football. By football I mean run and fall, tackle each other, and throw the ball and chase it. He can rub elbows with an enormous husky dog. Life is good.  As for Breckin, he has someone to hold him 24/7, so he is pleased as pie.

Yes...I can not think of a better way to spend a Friday night.

Especially when this is the score by halftime!

Ahhhh...yes. I do love friday night lights, husky pride, and homecomings.

one hundred years ago today...

(or so it seems)

The boys and I, along with Grandma Wendy, went to the State Fair.

It was at least 150 degrees.

So we didn't stay long.

Just long enough to see Clifford, go down the giant slide 47 times, eat chicken strips and fries, see our family and get hawks tattoos.

We pretended that the midway didn't exist. I think I will keep pretending for as long as possible. We can't wait to go back next year...:)

a lollipop walk.

Dixon loves to take walks and these days he really likes to push his grocery cart. This task is more challenging with only one arm. You know, us moms can relate to trying to steer the cart with one arm. When Dixon gets too frustrated with his one arm he dumps the cart in someone else's yard. We usually remember to go back and pick it up the same day. :)

As we were walking we found (in our own stroller) a half eaten lollipop from the football game. I did not oblige when I saw how much joy a half eaten, crusty, sugar lollipop brought to his face.

Dixon really notices all the details of EVERYTHING. Which is why a walk with him can take days. He loves to stop and watch the ants scurry on the sidewalk. Much to my dismay, every once in a while Dixon will smush one with his pointer finger and hold it up to me, just to hear me squeal. :)

************************************************************************************

In BREAKING news, Dixon got his cast off early. He was (and still is) not moving his last three fingers and he acts really bothered when I try to move them for him. We went back to the arm dr. and he said his arm was healing very nicely and he would remove the cast to encourage the movement of his fingers. The good news was that his hawkeye tattoo from the State Fair was still under his cast!  We go back October 1st and hopefully all is well. :)

SHE is here!

My sister, Tasha, finally just had her sweet baby girl, Reese!

She weighed 7.6 pounds and was 20.5 inches long. She is perfection.

Reesey cup is just as beautiful as her mama.

I only got to spend a few hours with her last weekend, but I made the most of it and barely set her down the whole time. I can't wait to get back up there and spoil my little NIECEY!!!

Ahhhhhh....I'm seeing pink. :)
