big boy's big day

When Dixon woke up the morning of his 3rd birthday I burst into his room and exclaimed, "Dixon you are the birthday boy!" To which he replied, "No, I the big boy."

{Have I ever mentioned that many times when people as him his name he tells them it is Big Boy?}

;)

After school we stopped by my mom's house, who shares a birthday with Dixon, before heading out to my dad's to visit him. He was busy building a fence for his horses.

We visited with him for a while and played with bubbles in the field.

Next, we picked up Montross and went to Gamma Gayles to eat and open gifts.

She even had a very special Batman cake, just for Dixon.

Dixon made his wishes and if one was to eat his cake, face first, then his wish was granted. :)

sweetest.

Here is my sweetest shot of the week.

My sweetest birthday boy, getting the chance to eat his sweet birthday cake face first.

Only at Grandma's. ;)

The first time was a fluke, Dixon walked right by his cake and just stuck his face on it and took a bite.
I was ready to go over proper birthday cake eating etiquette when Grandma Gayle said, "You have got to get a picture of that!"

So Sweet Dixon was able to eat an entire side of frosting from his super sweet Batman birthday cake from his Gramma Gayle.

It is pretty sweet to be three.

natasha and co.

A few weeks ago I held a fab shower for my abfab sister, Tasha.
Here are a few pics.

I also snapped a few pics of the courthouse chic wedding, which I will share soon. :)

so fly.

As the mama of two very active boys, I find myself being proud of all kinds of things I had never imagined.

Like how fast Dixon can run in his new crocs or how Breckie doesn't mind crawling through the grass and mud.

Or how high my {just as active} husband can hurl my boys into the air.

Oh yes, my boys are so fly and I am so proud. :)

My biggest boy...

...has his third birthday today.

But you would never know if you asked him.

He says that he is not the birthday boy, he is the big boy.

He also adds that he is in fact 4 and not 3.

At the young age of four three Dixon is bringing so much joy and laughter into our lives each day.

He loves to be silly and wrestle with his daddy, but he has one of the kindest hearts.

When he sees a baby or a small animal, the first thing out of his mouth is, "Ohhhhh, so cute." :)

He has been talking up a storm lately and I am so proud that I feel like my heart could seriously burst.

Dixon absolutely wants nothing to do with any of the potties we have in our house, let alone a pair of underwear.
This is going to be Daddy's mission between his last day of work (Thursday) and when his school starts (May 9th).

He enjoys going for walks runs where his feet barely touch the ground

He is obsessed with everything and everything Star Wars. I had no idea of the complexity of the story line, so I must say I am learning a lot from this.  {Who could have guessed that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader??} Wild.

Dixon's favorite foods include meatballs, mac and cheese, chicken nuggs, french fries, ketchup, yogurt, waffles, donut holes, and cheese burgers {without the bun and cut up - we call them american meatballs ;)}.

As much as he loves to run and play outside, he also loves to be sans clothing (anywhere and everywhere).

In some ways it feels like he is the same little boy we brought home from the hospital, with his paci as big as his head and yet in other ways I feel like he is turning into such a big boy.

I can honestly not imagine a life without Dixon in it. He has taught me so many things the past three years. I can, without a doubt, say that I am a better person for being his mom.

saaaaaweet shot.

I got this photo of Breckie the other day as I was clicking away. Even though it is not his whole face, this shot encompasses him to a T. Mouth wide open, in a smile, probably screaming something in his sweet deep voice.

Ahhhhh yes, this is a saaaaaweet shot.

So sweet in fact that I decided to link up to My 3 Boybarians for their Sweet Shot Tuesday.
