home sweet home

We have never been so happy to see our home! We had been living at the hospital since Saturday and by Wednesday we couldn't wait to show Dixon is home and see our little lady! When we got home we had Dixon try his swing, vibrating chair, pack and play, crib, changing table, bassinet, glider, boppy,  ect...
Adam gave Dixon his first bath at home and we went for our first (very slow) walk. :)

The name game...some things are meant to be...

We had the name Dixon in mind for a while. I wanted to name him after my Grandpa Dick who has passed away. But you can't really name a kid Dick these days. But after we had him we were second guessing the name Dixon (it is a BIG decision)! We went for two days without a name for sure! Then Adam filled out the birth certificate and it was official...Dixon Adam Alexander!
After talking with family we found out that some things are meant to be...
My Grandpa Dick's grandpa's name was Charles Dixon! We never knew until days after we named the little guy! Grandma Wendy even has Charles Dixon Silliman's picture up in her living room, and we never knew his name!

Baby Dixon's arrival

On Saturday April 12th, Adam's birthday, Grandma Wendy took me to the hospital with a headache concern. Adam arrived after work. After many tests, we found out that Dixon had his umbilical cord wrapped around his little neck. We would have to have a c section. We were very nervous and scared but lots of family came to the hospital for support. At 12:06 am on April 13th (Grandma Wendy's birthday) Dixon came into the world. He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz (777!!) and was 21 (7+7+7) inches long. It was a long night...but we were SO excited when we finally got to meet our son. :)
