oink

Today was my second day of school with kids...
Even though I hate being without Dixon all day, it is going great. You know, besides the fact that I don't get to snack and text all day and have a regular nap time.

I just have to share one kid story.

In English, the kids were filling out notecards about themselves, one of the questions was...

What are your concerns? (meaning for English class)

A little darling wrote, "Getting the swine flu."

A kid after my own heart.

the a family goes to a land!

A few weeks ago, Adam and Dixon and I headed for a day of fun at Adventureland! I have just been too busy and or lazy to get around to posting the pictures until now!

Dixon had fun on a few rides, but many of the little kid rides were still a little to big for him, and too small for us to go along...

Many of the rides we could take him on were a little too intense for his taste...

We had a GREAT time nonetheless!

Adam was most looking forward to the bingo hall...;)

water baby

It has been so thrilling to watch Dixon grow this summer...especially at the pool...

At the beginning of the summer Dixon would barely walk around the outside and play in the fountains...now he has been described by on lookers as a "wild man."

He loves to go down this slide...but rarely stays on his bottom...that is much too slow.

He goes right to his tummy and zips down the slide at the speed of light, laughing all the way!

Someday...long from now I look forward to being one of the moms that sits in the lawn chairs tanning and chatting... but not for years. Many years.

As you may know it is hard to take pictures of a toddler while watching a toddler in the pool, so Grandma Wendy came to do this impromptu photo shoot of our little buddy...complete with new trunks from Grandma Gayle.

my name is kendra and...

I am addicted to Picnik...it is amazing and NOT as confusing as Photoshop!

Here are some long lost pics from a softball game this summer...

Watch for more pics with pizazz from this blogger. ;)

i heart garage sales.

And I am not ashamed! I LOVE a good deal! Even in high school Rachel and I used to scour the town in search of flamingo shower curtains, coffee cups, funny shirts, and beanie babies.
This past weekend I not only had my own...but scored these AWESOME items at two others in town...

FINALLY a Cozy Coupe...These things are never at garage sales...I have been told they last forever, so no one ever sells theirs. I found it for $7 and showed up an hour early to the sale...I have no shame...;)

I stalked this house out the night before to grab up this sweet fire truck toddler bed for Dixon! I have really been torn with what to do with Dixon's sleeping situation...twin bed? toddler bed? matress on floor? real bed? new room? same room? With this beauty in a garage sale I took it as a sign...FIRE TRUCK BED in new room for baby Dixon this fall, once we get the bed cleaned up and put together it will be as good as new! PS....for only $70 (mattress included!)! This bed retails for $250!

Hooray for bargains!

let's talk about...

Dixon (of course).

Is there anything else to life?

Not on this blog.

Dixon has had the most amazing summer he LOVES everything outside. He will stand at the front door and pound, until someone will take him out.

He absolutley LOVES to go to the river at Grandpa Don and Grandma Chris's farm. He loves to throw rocks in the water and also make mad dashes for the rumbling river. He is a little toooo brave for my taste.

He says "ba" for ball, "mamama", "dada", "guh" for dog, and shsh for the fish at the doctor's office.

He will not keep his mouth open long enough for me to count his pearly whites, but I am fairly certain he only has two to go on each side, and those may be coming in!

He only has Wubba at nap and bedtimes...

I am not going to blog about his sleeping habits again since I was jinxed last time...let's just say it is going well. ;)

He loves to read books and will often go get a book and "read" it to himself, while pointing at all of the pictures.

Dixon eats like a bird and sometimes I swear he survives on mac and cheese and waffles.

This is the one subject I claim to be an expert on and could go on forever, but I will save that for another day...

For now...

Dixon is love.
