our county fair is the best county fair in our county.

It really doesn't have much competion, but Dixon had a blast nonetheless!

He especially LOVED all of the animal barns.

He would have climbed in and romped around with them, if we would have let him.

We even got to meet the sweet fair queen (a sister of one of our classmates:)).

Don't worry, we didn't leave Breckie at home. He  was taking in the sights from the comfort of his stroller.

It was a warm day (as you can see by the rosy cheeks) but we didn't let that stop us from having some good old fashioned county fair fun! :)

However, I think this one had the most fun of all...as indicated by the joy in this picture...

I loved the blue skies and eyes in this pic so much, I am linking up to 3 Boybarians for her Sweet Shot Tuesday...

6 months.(yes, I realize it is almost 7. thanks.)

At 6 months of age Mr. Breckies continues to be seriously the happiest baby.

He is very social and LOVES to be held and doted upon.

He is becoming interested in absolutley EVERYTHING.

Usually he takes one cat nap in the morning and one in the late evening.

He makes the cutest fish face, that I am working hard to catch on video! :)

He puts the jump in jumperoo! He is going to have thighs of steel to go along with his rock hard stomach from all of his v-ups.

He has tried many kinds of baby food and seems to like everything! We have only had one pukesplosion issue with the squash.

Breckie is weighing in at 16.5 pounds in the 40th percentile and is 26.5 inches long, also in the 40th percentile.

He is getting up on all fours, but not crawling (yet).

He still has a teeth count of zero, but is chomping away on anything and everything.

Still waking up to smile at me 1 time per night (we are hoping to make it to zero before school starts). :)
Each day his eyes are getting more blue and his lashes are getting longer.

His greatest source of entertainment is his big brother, Dixon. He watches his every move.

Speaking of big brother...Do you wonder how he measures up? CLICK HERE for Dixon's 6 month stats. ;)

one silli playdate.

One day this summer when it was much cooler, we headed up north to visit my cousin Brooke and her 4 boys! Combined with my two boys and my cousin Tyson's daughter we had a house full of laughter. While the kids ran around like wild monkeys played I was able to talk with Brooke and her mom, Melody. We reminisced about the times when we would get together as kids, the trips to Boji, and yes, the puffy paint dresses {a whole nother post in itself, wait for it}.

Dixon was in toy heaven and Breckin was pleased as punch with all of the extra attention he was getting! We will definitely be inviting ourselves back heading back up soon!

Let's just take a quick vote...don't you all think a house with 4 boys under 7 would make for an interesting blog? Me too! :)

of er visits and baby showers.

On our pretend Fourth of July (which was on the 3rd, because it rained ALL day on the 4th this year) we all went out to my dad's farm for family, fun, food and fireworks. Out on the farm it is an on going joke that I may or may not be a protective mother. So when all of the boys were jumping on the trampoline and asked screamed for Dixon to join in, I obliged. I was right there, snapping pics and watching him like a hawk the whole time.

Despite my best protecting efforts, when Dixon got off the trampoline each time he took a step, his legs would collapse and he would begin to cry. He was fine when he sat, but could not take a step. We went back and forth, back and forth over what to do. We decided to ask the advice of our doctor emt next door. He advised us to wait until morning and that he would probably be ok. However, that was not satisfaction enough for this worry wart. We loaded up and watched various fireworks shows the entire way to the big city.

The er dr. concluded that Dixon had a "leg sprain" and should be as good as new in 24 hours. Leave it to my little stinker to WALK out of the er. The next day I could tell he was a little sore, but by evening he was raring to go! :)

The week after the fourth was spent at my mom's house while our floors were being refinished. It was also spent preparing for The Shower of the Century. It was a truly awesome event...
I will let the pictures do the talking. :)

The parents to be! :)

everybody loves lucy.

This past winter my sweet cousin Haley's best friend Courtney found out that her unborn baby had a possibly fatal condition. She chose to let God be in control of what happened to her little girl, Lucy Mae. To everyone's joy and amazement Lucy was born with minimal problems. Today she is a thriving beautiful baby girl and an absolute miracle. Courtney is an amazing woman of strength and the ultimate example of a mother's love.

I am excited to announce that Courtney has {finally} started her own blog.

Now we can all keep up with the daily happenings of the miracle that is Lucy Mae. :)

"DIXON! Watch this!"

I just wish there was sound to go with these pictures.

If there was, it would go something like this...

DIXON!!!!

DIXON! Watch this!!!

I said DIXON!!!

NO DIXON LOOK! WATCH ME!

Dixon, watch this, watch this!

No! He's watching me!

Add in many giggles by Dixon and there you have it! The older boy cousins were LOVING to show Dixon their tricks on the trampoline. And Mr. Dixon was laughing up a storm! These were taken on our pretend fourth of July celebration, due to the icky, rainy fourth that we had this year...

This series of pics ended in an er visit (shocking, I know) which I will blog about at a later time, hopefully today! ;)

my boys and my dad.

I love this series of photos of my boys with my dad...
Dixon is eating his usual meal with Grandpa. Double stuff oreos and beef sticks.
Now that will put hair on your chest.

{Yes Dad, I know exactly how you feel. :) }

Who is in charge here?
