A new toy!

Grandma Wendy got Dixon this jumperoo when he came home from the hospital. And ever since "Dixon" (aka Adam) has been dying to try it out. We put him in it over the weekend and he really loves it. He tries to grab at the toys and get the little firefly into his mouth! It takes up about half of our living room...but it is worth it!

Dixon Times

Dixon is ready for church! The ladies at church LOVE when he wears his matching sets!

Dixon with Lady...;)

Things have been a little hectic the past few days...our new countertops finally came in! So we needed to get the old ones out, along with the sink. What I thought would take a few hours, you know out with the old in with the new, we are still working on tonight. Oh well, Grandpa Pete would say "Good things don't come easy." Boy is he right! ;)

Dixon News:
*Dixon rolled over 5 times at Mommy and Me yesterday!
Back to tummy!
* Dixon has been getting the giggles lately and it is SO FUNNY!
I am trying to catch it on tape!

Boji baby...

Dixon loved his trip up to Spencer so much, he got a shirt to remember it by...
He better start wearing it every day, because it won't fit him for long! :)
We can't wait to go up to Okoboji next summer and play, play, play all day!

It's a balancing act.

Dixon already knows the sign for sleep!

Dixon would like to say a little prayer.

BIG BOY!

This one's for you Margaret...

Over a lovely lunch at Bravo, I learned that my good old friend from
U of Iowa, Margaret, was a closet blog follower...
If you know Marge, you will know why this post is dedicated to her...:)

Love you margomec1 :)

busy times...

On Friday morning Dixon and I left for his first big car ride up to Spencer. He did great! He slept most of the time and did not get hungary until the very end.
Aunt Val, Uncle Todd Kailey and Cort were so very excited to meet Dixon and to see Mom, Jackson, Dixon and myself. Mom and I got a TON of scrapbooking done for Aunt Val. Jackson and Cortland spent quality cousin time up at the lakes. And most importantly Uncle Todd and Aunt Val made up for loss time with Mr. Dixon!!! I also got to meet up with Kayla, Holly and Jay on Friday night. We had so much fun catching up!

Uncle Jackson turned 16 on Saturday and got his license in Spencer! HOORAY Uncle Jackson!

Mommy and Me!!!

On Monday Dixon and I are starting a new adventure together. We are leading a Mommy and Me group. I am both excited and nervous. The teacher in me already has my lesson plans ready to go!!! I will let you know how it goes!

Here we go!

Auntie Tashie has insited that if I "make her check the blog everyday," then there should be new pictures of Dixon up everyday. By new pictures she meant ones with her in them. If you know Auntie Tashie, you know that she ALWAYS gets her way....

Doing the running man...

Dixon is on the run! REALLY! We are going up to Spencer this weekend so Dixon can meet his Great Uncle Todd and Great Aunt Val and cousins Kailey and Cortland. We are both SO excited to see them!

Dixon's 1st 4th!

What a great day to celebrate The Fourth of July. There was croquet, a driving range, boccie ball, 4 wheeler riding, barbecuing and much more! Dixon really enjoyed being at the farm and seeing his wild family and 9 dogs! Everyone had such a great time and enjoyed a fireworks "show" put on by Adam..
Well, everyone except Uncle Colton, who got a firecracker down his boot!
At the end of the night everyone was safe and had a great time!

Dixon with cousin Haley.

Grandpa Don and Great Grandma Patty.

Uncle Colton torting Lady...This must have been before the firework incident.

Relaxing with a few of the dogs...who at one point caught a rabbit and were fighting over it!
Thanks to Aunt Mary who chased them down and Uncle Dewey who got the rabbit!

firecracker, firecracker...BOOM BOOM BOOM!

We probably won't be seeing any of these today...

...but we will be celebrating BIG time at the family farm!
I am SO excited to start this tradition with Dixon.
As long as I can remember there has always been a
HUGE celebration at my great grandparents farm. After they passed away we were
in jeporady of losing the farm that was so near and dear to us all.
However...my dad, grandpa, and his brothers believe that family farms should be just that for FAMILY. They won the farm in an auction last September! This will be a VERY special Fourth, celebrating at The Farm with family and friends...just as it should be...at last!
Time to party like it's 1776!!!!

This baby loves his crib!

Lately Dixon is loving to lay in his crib and stare at his mobile. Last night he even cried when Adam tried to take him out of it! He loves to watch the animals go round and round and the shinny leaves go up and down!

We are getting ready for a big 4th of July weekend. Adam has softball in Des Moines. Natalie's Dancers are dancing in Earlham. Tomorrow there is a big picnic at The Farm. We will be ready to rest by Monday...which is another big day...the 1st anniversary of 777!

It's official...I'm a mom...

...because today I bought my first pair of Born shoes. And I did not just buy one pair, but two. I am now an official card carrying (Born shoe wearing) member of The Mom Club. Let me just say that they are COMFY and cute! You can not even tell that they are the B- word...unless you see the plush soles!

Tasha...Will you still be my sister???

Happy Birthday Auntie Rachel!

Today is one of the most loyal blog followers, Aunt Rachel's birthday! She lives ALL the way in California...which is hard because we grew up 187 steps away from each other. We miss here dearly, but we talk often and she is coming to meet Mr. Dixon in October...Then we will begin to plan his first trip to The Rock!

WE LOVE YOU RACHEL!!!!
