YOU!

Dearest Blog Readers (All 10 of you),

I am asking for your support. I have a sweet friend Carrie who is a mama on a mission to raise money again this year for March of Dimes. She lost her precious twin sons, Tate and McCoy in 2005 because they were born  too early. Her March of Dimes Team, N Squared, has since raised almost $15,000 to help ensure that one day, what happened to her, will not happen to the rest of us.What an awesome way to keep her sons spirits alive!

If you think you have no connection to March of Dimes, you’ve got it all wrong! March of Dimes has done research so that all of our babies were able to make it to term and be born healthy. We should all give a little, even if it is only five dollars, to support this worthy cause.

This winter, when Breckin was born and admitted to the NICU hours later, Adam and I got a small glimpse of what life is like for both babies who are born premature and their parents. We saw little babes, as tiny as pop cans struggling to survive. We also saw their parents. On the weekends the parents of these sweet babies would pack bags and stay all day, at the bedside of their little ones. On weeknights, I would see many parents arrive in their work clothes to spend precious time with their babies before making it home for dinner.

March of Dimes has made great strides in their goal to ensure that each baby gets a healthy beginning, but they still have work to do! Just click on the link below or the right hand side of my blog to be taken to team N Squared's page! You can also grab Carrie's badge for your own blog to spread the good word about her sweet boys and awesome cause.

bubbles are love.

I must say that this light up bubble gun from Disney World is worth it's weight in gold!

take two!

This past weekend Dixon had an Easter/Birthday celebration, at Grandpa Dan's and Grandma Gayle's.

He received his THIRD Easter basket.

The little man got to go on another Easter egg hunt.

Dixon had an adorable Woody cake...that was mighty tasty too!

Dixon also got to catch up on his favorite job of all...throwing rocks in the pond. ;)

Not to worry about Breckin...there was PLENTY of attention to go around...

It's a girl!!!

No, not us sillies!

Pump the brakes!

Who do you think we are? The MckFamily? The Starrcircus?  My cousin Brooke?

It's my sister Tasha and Eric! They just found out they are having a baby girl who is set to arrive September 1st!

I am putting the pressure on her to start a blog and I will link to it as soon as she does! She is busy looking for names and nursery ideas...I am SO excited for them!

long days, short years.

I can not believe that today Dixon is two years old. Is this what {Missy} meant when she, in her infinite mommy wisdom, said, "Long days and short years." I will spare you all the mushy mommy cliches, but truly these have been the best two years, I can remember. Dixon has brought so many smiles to our faces and filled our home with laughter each day. He continues to amaze us each day with his go getter attitude and vivacious personality.

Don't let all of that spunk fool you. Dixon can curl up and watch a movie with the best of them. His shows of choice are currently Wow Wow Wubbzy, Cars, Wonder Pets, and Yo Gabba Gabba. He also LOVES books. Along with his all time favorite Goodnight Moon, Dixon also often pics Eric Carle classics such as, The Very Busy Spider, Brown Bear Brown Bear, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

As much as Dixon loves to read, he REALLY loves the great outdoors. You will often hear him screaming down the block when it is time to come inside. He can be found pushing his bubble mower up and down the block, playing in the backyard with the neighbor kids, shooting hoops, riding his 4 wheeler, tormenting Lady, exploring, ect, ect.

He is showing more and more love to his little brother as well. He will often be found trying to give him his paci, feeding him, and giving him knucks. I can already tell that they will be the best of buddies in no time at all. At two years old Dixon has taken on the role of big brother amazingly.

Easter at the farms.

We had an awesome Easter! After opening baskets and searching for eggs at our house we headed out to the farm. My great grandparents farm, it is so much fun to celebrate holidays out there. The farm is full of memories. Dixon and Breckin played on this swing set, they are the third generation of grandchildren to enjoy the swing set on top of the hill. I love that.

We also played on Grandpa Pete's old golf cart. I was quickly reminded of why I did not buy that adorable seer sucker suit for Dixon to wear on Easter. It would have lasted about point two at the farm.

We got to see my beautiful sister Tasha and her fiance Eric. But most importantly, her baby bump.

We got to spend time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We listened to the men tell stories by the barn...and laughed about how Uncle Dewey told me that I was "wasting film."

Next, we went across the iron bridge to Grandpa Don and Grandma Chris's house, where Dixon had is first real Easter egg hunt. :)

We were all entertained by the new pony, Banjo and Uncle Colton's threats to ride him. My plan is that by the time Dixon is old enough to ride him the older grandkids will have him nice and broke in. :)

Lastly we went to Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Jack's, where we were all exhausted. By all of us I mean Adam and I. The boys were still raring to go...:)
