The next Michael Phelps

Well maybe not quite yet...but....

Over the weekend Dixon had his first swimming experience! We went with Grandma Wendy over to her friend Dena's house. It was a beautiful day and Dixon LOVED the water. Even though he didn't inherit the Silliman webbed feet...it looks like he could still be quite the swimmer! Watch out Kailey and Cort...Dixon is the new sailfish!

Dixon thought that sun was WAY to bright!

Halloween costume???

This thumb tastes like carrots.

I can feed myself!

Do I have anything on my face?

No this is not Dixon's Halloween costume as an axe murderer....
It is our first attempt at carrots...
He loved them...but they were a little messy as you can see...

4th generation carney...:)

I thought it would be attending college, then I though if I graduated college, but no. Then when I was engaged, or when I bought a house...still no. Then I got married...and still worked the fair...

My ticket out of being a carney was baby Dixon...I will be forever indebted to him! :)

Dixon with Great Grandma Kay

Little Dixon went on his first trip to the great Iowa State Fair! I remember all of the years I worked at the fair and I would see little babies out late at night...just exhausted. I would say "Who would keep their baby out that late at the fair?!?!?" The answer is me! We did not get home until midnight! It was a last minute decision...t0 pack everything up and head to the fair with Grandma Wendy. The family working in the stands had been there for 8 days and when Dixon came up they were THRILLED!

Driving a golf cart at age 4 months? Great Grandpa Dickie would be so proud!

Great Uncle Lance.

Great Aunt Tami.
Beautiful cousin Chelsey.

Pretty Aunt Maddy feeding Dixon...she found out that Dixon had two teeth and was eating cereal and said..."I miss everything!"

Where's Dixon????

No he has not been in hiding...but he does have a very busy mom!!! You're welcome for sparing you the mushy blog about leaving my little angel. :)
This has been one WILD week. I will go slow so you can catch it all!!

1. Dixon had his 4 month well baby check up on Wednesday with Dr. Amy...
He weighed 13.10 pounds (45th %ile) and is 26 inches long (80th %ile). He got lots of shots in his little legs... ;(

2. Dixon had his first fever! I found him at 2:30 in the morning and promptly woke up Grandma Wendy with a FRANTIC call. She assured me not to call 911...but to give him Tylenol and wait until morning.

3. Dixon has started cereal...he loves it! It is sticky and messy...but it is fun to watch him!

4. I started work here in town...10th grade special education. The not so funny Mr. Emmert said, "Kendra, you're early...the kids don't come until Wednesday." :)

NEWSFLASH!

Dixon has just gotten his first teeth...and TWO at that! He has been putting everything in his mouth lately...although burp rags are his favorite. Last night we just noticed that there were two little chompers poking through on the bottom!! When Uncle Jackson came over to see he commented, "just like a fish..." That is a good way to describe how they feel...and we are proud of out little fishie!

playing catch up....

Well....where do I start?!?!

We have been getting ready for and having an enormous garage sale at my mom' s house...that is ALWAYS a bigger job than we intend it to be! Dixon was a good little garage sailer...for the most part. ;) Adam did not appreciate the "Make offer" sticker stuck to Dixon's nose!

I GOT THE NEW JOB!!!!

But no sooner than the excitement wore off did I learned that DMPS will not release me from my contract until they find a "suitable replacement." Everyone is confident that they will. Am I that easily replaceable? Let's hope so! We will keep our fingers crossed! And Addi...keep me in your bedtime prayers. :)

Auntie Kayla came to visit!! We had a lot of fun catching up and Grandma Wendy sent her home with a garbage bag full of garage sale goodies!! :)

I am starting back to school x 2! I start at Winterset on Tuesday and in September I am starting my master's at Morningside! What's another iron in the fire?

Go Bears!

Dixon got these jammies from his good friends Conner and Morgan (along with parents Riley and Jen). He loves to lay around in them...we hope they still fit once football season starts!

A shoulder pad?

No silly...a chew toy!

BIG foot.

* In sad news...Dixon has Thrush(an infection babies get in their mouths). But he is on medicine...and as you can see, he is still one happy baby!

New month=New hope

I have been scattering around the past few days like a MAD WOMAN! There is a special education position open at the high school here in town and it could not be more perfect! I just forgot how much work it is to apply for a new job! It is a full time job in itself! Now... the application is in and all I can do is sit back and PRAY that I will get it! It will be so nice to be 45 seconds away from Dixon...rather than 45 minutes. So keep your fingers crossed...and if you pray...include me!

Dreaming of Mommy working in Winterset!
