boo

You would never know it today (well, except for his full arm cast) that a week ago tomorrow Dixon broke his arm.

Today, he is back in business. You know the running, climbing, sliding, pushing business. Now he just has one big "boo" hard arm.

Mr. Rough and Tumble was playing a favorite game of tackling pillows on the bed, when he fell to the floor. He tried to brace himself with his left arm and ended up breaking his radius and ulna.

The verdict was just a cast (thank goodness). Dixon has adjusted well. However, we have taken a few steps back in Operation Wubba...but desperate times call for desperate measures. ;)

moments...

Now that I have returned to work I am finding it a little difficult to switch from my role as stay at home mom to working mom.

I long to know how much of his waffle Dixon ate before turning up his nose.

I recite lines from Hamlet, secretly wandering if there has been a poopy diaper yet and if so, what was the consistency.

As I try to remember/teach algebraic equations I am really concerned with if they went down easy for naps and are the still sleeping.

As I scan the room looking for cell phone out I can't help but think that I could be snuggling my little darlings.

Yes, it is hard to miss all of these moments throughout the long work day.

However...

*

There are some moments...

*

When I am COMPLETELY at peace with my working mom status...

*

You know, those moments when I open my inbox see the following email from Grandma Gayle...

"Brex was too happy playing in his bouncer, as I removed him, I saw something on his leg, as I further pulled him out it was smooching on down his leg, ooohhhhhhhh. I had a sheet on the floor (TG). he rolled and so did the poop, he crawled, it smudged, help!! i grabbed him and now im in it too......oh ick!!!"

*

At peace. ;)

of first teeth and reactions

On the last day of summer...

On his very first Iowa State Fair...

After four months of hard work...

Today, Baby B got his very first tooth!!! :)

You would have thought that we received  his Harvard Medical School (does that even exist?) acceptance letter the way I ran outside and held Breckie up like baby Simba to announce to Adam (and the rest of our neighborhood) this major milestone. :)

************************************************************************************

On another exciting note I have added "reactions" to my blog.
It is much like "liking" something on Facebook.
When you come to the end of the post and are too busy or shy to leave a comment simply click on "adorable" if you think my boys are too cute for words.
And if you don't think that poopsplosions are "adorable", simply click the "tmi" button.
Can't wait to see you reactions!
PS...Any ideas for other reactions are WELCOME! It is totally customizable!
What are you thinking when you finish reading a post about D and B????

breakfast club

An early morning meeting of the minds.

*Dixon's newest buddies are another great garage sale find at two dollars for the whole lot!*

zoo crew

One day last week our sweet cousin, Dani, accompanied us to the zoo. Dixon had a blast being out of his stroller and running around like a chicken with his head cut off exploring.

This is Dani in her natural habitat...phone to ear.

AMAZED by monkeys!

Snack break. :)

Dixon's favorite part was the fishes! He did not want to leave the enormous fish tanks...he even tried to climb in one. ;)

wordless wednesday.

I mean, I don't know about the rest of the blogosphere...but I can't get enough of this 7 and 1/4 month old.

a rainy morning at the science center.

One day a few weeks ago, Grandma Gayle offered to keep Breckin so Dixon and I could do something special together.

It was so nice to be able to spend this time with him at the Science Center. Aunt Madi even came along with us.

Dixon's favorite part, by far, was this ball wall. While playing here he made a little friend. They bonded over manpris, striped shirts and a love of the ball wall.

Don't they look like Mario and Luigi?
;)
We made sure to do and see it all, what a great way to spend a rainy morning. :)
